This textbook explains the concepts and most important achievements of modern physics without reference to higher mathematics. The traditional separation between classical and modern physics is avoided and an attempt is made to present all the material in such a way as to develop quantum mechanical concepts. The textbook is intended for secondary schools and as a teaching aid for physics teachers in general education and technical secondary schools. It will be useful for part-time students studying physics at the "A" level and the first year.
